STAN DUBIS AWARD

Stan Dubis was an outstanding official in basketball and football for many years and was also a member of the Sportsmanship Committee.  It was at the end of our sportsmanship meeting in January 1992, that Stan suffered a stroke and died shortly thereafter. It was decided by the committee at the next meeting to honor an outstanding official at the next dinner and to designate this recognition as the STAN DUBIS AWARD.

*Paul Danko died of a heart attack while officiating a varsity basketball game at Munster on November 22,
1994.  As a tribute to him a scholarship fund was started in his name. The Sportsmanship Committee donates $250.00 to this fund annually.

Dick Blythe Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award began in 1993.  This award reflects on those individuals with outstanding character, contribution to youth, dedication, and effort that has been exemplified throughout their careers emphasizing good sportsmanship. As of 2020, the award was re-named in honor of the late Dick Blythe, the Sportsmanship Committee Chairman 1992-2003.
